i honestly dont see much grounds for differentiating that 2/3 mark, and when we get to the 6-8 range i think there is alot of cards which can swing between these tiers
With a lot of one drop ramp cards you don't want many lands that come in tapped or that produce colourless
Also the other theory was that due to demand for product in the beginning they sent out non stamped 1st ed cards until the unlimited versions were ready and thats how we have shadowless
Examples like Avenger of Zendikar and Scute Swarm get more dangerous when youre dropping multiple lands on a turn
